First Degree - Direct Hands On Healing
Second Degree - Distant Healing
Third Degree - Reiki Master Level |
First Degree - Unlocks the ability to use Reiki for
direct hands-on healing. This degree includes the use of one symbol and attunement by a person who has received the third
degree attunement and training. This is basic practitioner training. First Degree students learn to do self-treatment and
to give hands-on treatment to individuals. First degree training usually takes about two-and-a-half days to complete and
includes several initiations which open the energy channels and ensure that energy passed through will not be from the
person's own resources. This is protection for everyone involved.
Second Degree - Long distance healing and working on the mental and
emotional levels. It includes the use of two additional symbols and attunement by a person who has received the third degree
attunement and training. Second level training is usually only given after a student has been practicing First Degree skills
for at least a year, though this can vary somewhat depending on the individual. In Second Degree training, the student learns
some special techniques for enhancing the level of energy transferred, and learns how to give distance treatments for
individuals, groups, and circumstances. Second degree skills can be learned in a weekend when the student is ready.
Third Degree (Reiki Master) - Fully unlocks the energy of Reiki. It
also includes learning how to teach Reiki to others and providing attunements. It includes the use of one additional symbol
and attunement by a person who has received the third degree attunement and training. Also includes instruction on how to
teach Reiki and give attunements, which can only be provided by a Certified Reiki Master. Students who complete Third Degree
training are qualified to teach Reiki to others. This is intensive training, usually over a considerable period of time, and
includes supervised teaching time. Third Degree training is primarily intended for people who have made Reiki their life's work.
The Attunement Process
The attunement is a sacred process of opening to the universal symbols
of Reiki and allowing them to activate the natural ability to use the Reiki energy. The First Degree Reiki attunement may be
seen as the "light switch" that turns on the ability to use the Reiki energy and opens the receiver to a new world. Once this
switch has been turned on, it just becomes brighter and brighter with use of the energy. This attunement opens and activates
the crown chakra to receive the universal life force energy; then the energy centers in the hands are opened to allow the
energy to flow out through the hands; finally, the ability to use Reiki in this way is sealed into the energy field, making
it available for the user’s entire life.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is, in its simplest translation, universal
life energy. It is referred to in other cultures as "chi", "prana", or "spirit". It is the life force that exists in all
things. The practice of Reiki is the art and science of channeling this universal life energy, or force, to promote spiritual,
mental, and physical well-being.
Reiki Energy
Reiki is, quite simply, the "life force." It is one of the more widely
known forms of healing through direct application of Chi, or a force very similar to Chi for it may be that Chi is different
from the energy used by Reiki. Chi is the term used by the Chinese mystics and martial artists for the underlying force the
Universe is made of.Reiki is very easily learned, very simple to use, and beneficial for all. It is one of many forms of
healing through the use of the natural forces bearing a lot of similarity to Chi. Since the word Reiki means Universal Life
Force Energy, it refers to the energy and not the specific techniques taught by Reiki Masters. The techniques are more properly
called the Usui System of Natural Healing after the founder of the system, Dr. Mikao Usui.
| A Reiki Healing is very simply performed.
A Reiki treatment is essentially the "laying on of hands," an ancient technique common to many spiritual
traditions. Energy is transferred to the client through the hands of the practitioner in a sequence of standardized
positions where the hands are placed. The Reiki energy is smart since the Universe is a very smart place indeed. The
energy knows where to go, and what to do once it gets there, or else is being directed by a higher intelligence. The
energy manages its own flow to and within the recipient. The amount of energy transferred depends on the client's ability
to use it and willingness to receive it. When no more energy can be used, the transfer ceases to occur.All this happens
without direct conscious intervention by the healer. |
